Gro Harlem Brundtland

Few Norwegians have contributed more significantly to society through their lifetime than Gro Harlem Brundtland. Brundtland has a distinguished career of 30 years in public service, including ten years as Norway’s Prime Minister, Chair of the World Commission on Environment and Development, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), UN Special Envoy for Climate Change, as well as ten years as a physician and researcher in the Norwegian healthcare system.

Brundtland currently serves on the board of the UN Foundation and is a member of the organization The Elders. She is also a member of the International Commission on Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament.
