Jon Mørland – Partner, Senior Advisor and Managing Director

Jon Mørland works primarily with strategic advisory services at the intersection of government, private businesses and the media. He has extensive experience advising political decision makers and on regulatory framework, and the positioning of private companies and corporate interests. Mørland is also advisor and spokesman for Gro Harlem Brundtland and manager for Brede Hangeland.

Mørland is the former Head of Information at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and spokesperson for the Minister of International Development. He has eleven years’ experience in the foreign service, where he worked with security policy, foreign aid and the promotion of Norwegian economic, political and cultural interests in the United States.

Mørland has a Master of Science (Economics) from the London School of Economics and a Master of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh.

Øyvind Johnsen – Partner, Senior Advisor and Chairman of the Board

Øyvind Johnsen works extensively with strategic advisory services for manufacturing and brand management companies, the offshore sector, the renewable energy sector, food production and education. He also plays an important role as an advisor during negotiations and tense situations between companies and supervisory boards and other public authorities.

Johnson is one of the communications industry’s most experienced media advisors. He has 15 years’ experience in the Norwegian media, and has served as a news editor, political editor and foreign news editor.

Johnsen was Secretary General of Amnesty International and has written five academic and debate books. He studied law and history at the University of Oslo.

Ole-Morten Fadnes – Partner and Senior Advisor

Ole-Morten Fadnes works with strategic advisory services, analyses and external communications for clients within various sectors.

Fadnes has 15 years’ experience from Dagens Næringsliv – The Norwegian Business Daily, seven of those years as editor of DN.no. Through different jobs in Dagens Næringsliv, Fadnes has covered many of Norway’s largest and most important sectors: Oil and energy, sea farming, IT and telecommunication, bank and finance, real estate and retail.

Fadnes studied comparative politics and religions at the University of Bergen. He also studied journalism at the Oslo University College.

Marte Bøe Snoen – Senior Advisor

Marte Bøe Snoen works primarily with analysis, advisory services and project management for various industries. She has expertise and experience in public funding, including project management, communication and public-private partnership projects (PPP).

Bøe Snoen worked for five years in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, most recently as a Senior Advisor in the trade policy department, where her tasks included promoting Norwegian industry abroad, Norway’s participation at the World Expo, strategies for internationalisation and itineraries for political leaders. She has also been the Media Coordinator for the secretariat of the meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Oslo in 2007, Embassy Secretary for the NATO delegation in Brussels and a trainee at the Norwegian Embassy in Athens.

Bøe Snoen is a political science graduate from the University of Oslo, concentrating on American security and defense policy and the EU.

Mats Silberg – Senior Advisor

Mats Silberg works with clients across a range of sectors, from renewable energy and infrastructure to technology and tourism. He has extensive experience in issues management, public affairs management as well as marketing, both from a B2B and B2C standpoint.

He previously worked as a strategic advisor at Trigger, where he handled clients in a range of sectors. He also has editorial experience from the Norwegian Business Daily (Dagens Næringsliv) and was Information Officer at the Norwegian Consulate in New York City.

Silbergs holds an Master's Degree in media studies from the University of Oslo, writing his thesis on the coverage of US elections in Norwegian media.

Marius Vegheim – Advisor

Marius Vegheim works with project management, research and analysis for clients within offshore and renewable energy. He is working on developing plans and systems for emergency communications and also with events and conferences for several clients.

Vegheim is a member of the Norwegian Ski Federation's cross country committee and has competed in cross country skiing at an elite level.

Vegheim graduated in economics with a bachelor's degree in finance from BI, Norwegian Business School. In addition, he has studied management at the NIH, Norwegian School of Sport Sciences.

Benedikte B. Salvesen – Special advisor

Benedikte B. Salvesen works with clients in renewable energy, healthcare, telecom, technology and infrastructure. She has experience with a wide range of work from analysis, strategy development and external communication, to issues management and public affairs management.

Benedikte has previously worked at the law firm Lippestad, in Trigger and in Varde Hartmark. She has also been a trainee at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Norwegian Embassy in Washington D.C.

Salvesen holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Media Studies from the University of Oslo and University of California, Berkeley. She wrote her thesis on the media framing of the Norwegian defense industry.

Tønnes H. Thompson – Advisor

Tønnes H. Thompson works primarily with analysis and advisory services for clients in a range of sectors, but mainly with clients in the oil and gas industry and renewable energy.

Tønnes worked for four years in the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. He’s most recent position was advisor in the section for ownership, where he was part of the team that manages the Norwegian state ownership in Statoil ASA, Petoro AS and SDFI. Before that he worked as an Higher Executive Officer is the section for industrial affairs. The section handles policy issues related to the Norwegian oil service and supply industry. He’s tasks included development of industrial policy, stakeholder dialog and promotion of Norwegian industry abroad.

He has a master degree from NHH and a bachelor degree from BI Nydalen, he has also studied at FGV in São Paulo, Brazil.

Maria Korkunc – Senior Advisor

Maria Korkunc provides analysis, advisory services and project management for various sectors. She has wide-ranging experience, with particular focus on external relations, content production and social media.

Prior to joining Mørland & Johnsen, Maria was senior communications advisor for the Norwegian Ministry of Finance. She has also worked as senior communications advisor for the Norwegian Office of the Prime Minister, as communications advisor with the Norwegian Red Cross, and as reporter and news anchor for Norwegian commercial broadcaster TV 2.

Korkunc holds a master’s degree in Conflict Studies from London School of Economics, writing her thesis on deradicalization of Norwegian foreign fighters. She also holds bachelor’s degrees in Journalism from Volda University College and Middle Eastern Studies from the University in Bergen.
